What is Sacred?

E. Stanley Jones wrote that Christianity greatly expanded by great view of what is sacred or not sacred in five important areas. Many ancient errors of all religions were eradicated or denied.
1) Gender: Spiritual leadership and spirituality was considered for men. Women were denied rights to worship, access to worship places or become a priest or guru. Paul writes that there is neither male or female in Christ. (Galatians 3:28) In some religions, women are not considered or qualified for spiritual life.
2) Language: Religions always have sacred languages. Judaism has Hebrew; Hinduism has Sanskrit; Islam has Arabic; Sikhism has Gurumukhi; and Buddhism has Pali. On the Day of Pentecost, the disciples spoke in many languages. (Acts 2:8-11) In whatever language bible is translated, that language is ‘sacred language’.
3) Sacred place: There are several religious places or shrines around the world considered as holy places. “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.” (Acts 2:23) Pilgrimage to holy places is not needed as Lord hears our prayers and is present when two or three are gathered in His name. (Matthew 18:20)
4) Sacred clothing: In most religions, there is sacred clothing for priests and even for devotees. Believers are clothed with the garment of salvation and robe of righteousness. (Isaiah 61:10)
5) Sacred profession: “Whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free.” (Ephesians 6:8) Any profession is for the Glory of God. “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians 3:17) All work should be done with diligence and with all strength as unto the Lord. (Colossians 3:23)
Praise God for this marvelous privilege. “Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts!” Psalms 65:4)

Do I realize and recognize this privilege to come into His presence?
