A child’s cry

A child was crying, and all tried to help. They could not figure out why the child was crying. When his mother came, she picked the child, with just a look, she could deduce the reason. A small ant has bitten him on his back. With a soothing touch, the boy calmed down and smiled.
Cry for help: A child feels helpless and seeks help. Crying is one form of expression of helplessness and also seeking support or assistance. Children of God should be like a child, acknowledging the powerlessness of self to deal with the situation, and seeking God’s help. When the child cried, a few people tried to help, but it was all inadequate. There could be good people who would like to help genuinely, but cannot. The reason is that they could not find the root cause of the problem.
Minor or major: The ant bite was a minor issue for the adults, but a major problem for the child. Believers, when they go through suffering, think of it as an enormous problem and start crying and groaning. Other believers may not comprehend the problem. As the child could not communicate the problem, there could be spiritual agonies a saint could face. Unable to express in words the weakness, a child of God could groan, but helped by the Spirit of God, who intercedes on behalf. (Romans 8:26)
God understands: Like a mother who could understand a child’s plight, God understands our situation. The Lord Jesus Christ could empathise with believers, as he was incarnated human and lived among humans, knowing their temptations and sufferings. (Hebrews 4:15)
Mother’s love: The love is dynamic, which transforms. Recipients of God’s love are transformed into His likeness. Like a mother who will not forget her child, God will not forget His children who are born again. (Isaiah 49:15) They are precious in his sight. As long as disciples are alive, they could be targets of attacks by Satan and imperfect world systems. Nevertheless, God cares and helps us to fulfil God’s purposes.
