In many cultures, the poor, marginalized, destitute, and lower castes are not allowed even to sit before those who consider themselves higher. They are urged to stand at a distance. However, Hannah sang describing God’s righteous acts: “He raises the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor.” (I Samuel 2:8) The Promise is fulfilled in the Lord.
Heavenly place: The disciples, who trusted the Lord, are seated with Him in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 2:6) Hannah mentioned that God will exalt the oppressed and exploited and make them sit with princes. God gives the privilege to be seated with the Son of God, the Savior, and the Lord. Exalted from the lowest level on earth to the heavenly realms.
Broad place: The place God brings His people is not congested, but a broad place. (Psalm 18:19) Broad place means to be in a place of safety and security. Those who follow the Lord, their minds also renewed and broadened. (Romans 12:2) They will not be narrow-minded or mean-minded. Hence, a believer becomes generous. Instead of hoarding or burying are willing to share the blessings. They are not stingy, but distributors of God’s provisions.
Place of Abundance: God brings His people to a place of abundance. (Psalm 66:12) Not only are needs met, but there is surplus. It is not just material and worldly needs, but mental, emotional, and spiritual needs too. God also showers abundantly on His people: Love, Grace, Mercy, peace, joy, and wisdom.
Regret and envy: There would be many who missed the opportunity to be lifted. They were comfortable in the miry clay of sin, numbed by traditions, mesmerized by the attractions of this world, deceived by riches, and damned themselves by choosing now, rather than eternity. They regret missing the offer God granted them. The rich man regretted his futile life on earth, but there was no chance for repentance and redemption. (Luke 16:19-31)
Am I seated in the Heavenly realms with Christ?
