Advertisement by builders screams that they provide an ideal home. Buyers are mesmerized by glossy pictures, astonishing videos, and other facilities. However, most buyers are disillusioned and disappointed. When God builds a home, there is bread of blessing, not sorrow, and blessed sleep. If not, it is a futile effort. (Psalms 127:1-2) Having a blessed family is a gift from God.
Blessed food: Those who do not trust the Lord will eat bread of sorrows or anxiety. Bread of sorrows refers to food gotten by anxiety, fear, and fruitless labor. People feel heavy in their hearts and minds. The worry, anxiety, fear, and guilt make them weary. The Lord Jesus Christ invites such people to come to Him and receive Shalom, which means rest and peace. Nevertheless, the Christ-honoring and obedient family will experience that the food they eat and the beverages they drink will be blessed by the Lord. (Exodus 23:5) What they eat would nourish the body, strengthen their mind, and heal them of their sicknesses.
Blessed Sleep: Many spend sleepless nights because of worries, fears, and doubts. However, God promises good rest and sleep for those who trust Him and do His will. People of God, when they lie down, have a sense of security. (Psalm 4:8) People of God could experience sweet sleep because they are not afraid. (Proverbs 3:24) Because God, who cares and protects His people, never sleeps nor slumbers, believers could sleep with a restful mind. (Psalm 121:4)
Blessed life: Christians celebrate their lives. Because they have discovered their life purpose and meaning for their lives. It is not a boring everyday routine, but a dynamic understanding of God who is alive and active in everyday life.
Blessed hope: Christians have a Blessed hope, which is amazing and marvelous. There is a great longing and anticipation for His glorious coming. (Titus 2:13) When the preparation for believers’ eternal home is complete, and when the gospel of the Kingdom is preached to all nations, the Second Coming of the Lord will happen. (John 14:1-2; Matthew 24:14)
