David prays to the Lord, saying: Be Pleased, O Lord, to deliver me. (Psalm 40:13) short and sweet prayer that has spiritual fervor, humility, faith, and expectation for God’s mighty deeds. Using this principle, people could pray for various aspects of life.
Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: God is gracious to those who are humble. God looks towards those who have a contrite and broken heart. (Isaiah 66:2)
Be pleased, O Lord, to forgive me: God is pleased when a sinner repents, confesses sins, forsakes sins, and receives the Lord Jesus Christ as the saviour.
Be pleased, O Lord, to correct me: Human tendency is to go astray like sheep. (Isaiah 53:6) Though in the wrong path, the Lord is gracious to correct the wayward sheep, and to bring in the path of righteousness for His Name’s sake.
Be pleased, O Lord, to provide for me: Humans are always needy and dependent. He gives his people daily bread. (Matthew 6:11) The bread symbolises all human needs.
Be pleased, O Lord, to protect me: In the Fallen, cursed, and imperfect world filled with spiritual darkness, no one can survive if God does not protect.
Be pleased, O Lord, to heal me: God should be pleased to send His word to heal his children. (Psalm 107:20)
Be pleased, O Lord, to guide me: God is pleased to guide His people into green pastures, beside still waters. He guides His children to know God’s plan, will, and purpose.
Be pleased, O Lord, to comfort me: The world is a place of discouragement. Only God could comfort, console, and give courage to face daily challenges.
Be pleased, O Lord, to bless me: Only God can grant Shalom the holistic blessings that embrace all aspects of human life. When God is pleased, even enemies are at peace with His children. (Proverbs 16:7)
Be pleased, O Lord, to use me: God is pleased to use his people as instruments of righteousness in this world. (Romans 6:13)
Is God pleased with me to grant all the blessings?
