One worship leader explained: “Experience is important. People who come to the church should see colors displayed uniquely, there should be a sweet light fragrance, and there should be smoke. Then the Holy Spirit could work, and people would feel great.” He asked his associates to go and see the concerts done in dance bars, disco houses, and cinemas to learn the techniques. Sadly, these leaders did not know the person of the Holy Spirit, who is the creator, does not need an artificial context to reveal Himself. (Genesis 1:2) The need is not an emotional experience, but a spiritual experience of the touch of God, and the voice of God.
God’s Glory: Apostle John describes the scene in heaven, how the glory of God, His power was manifested like smoke. (Revelation 15:8) Mount Sinai was completely enveloped in smoke because the LORD had descended on it in fire. And the smoke rose like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently. (Exodus 19:18) And when the priests came out of the Holy Place, the cloud filled the house of the LORD (I Kings 8:10) These were divine manifestations and not human machination.
Warning – Fake Show: Aaron’s sons tried to create their own, to look like God’s manifestation, and died in God’s presence. (Leviticus 10:1) Instead of expecting in faith for God to send fire to consume the offering, they created a strange fire, which was fakery. Ananias and Sapphira also dared to tell lies to the Holy Spirit and died. (Acts 5)
True worship: First, worship the Lord in the splendor of Holiness and not in the hollowness of smoke, color, smell, voice, and noise. Second, right worship is in truth, the Word of God, the Scripture in the gatherings of saints at the Pillar of truth. (John 4:24) Third, God expects worship in spirit, not in flesh (carnal, human, and worldly). Fourth, worship involves the mind, not mechanic repetition or emotional rehearsal. (I Corinthians 14:15) Fifth, reasonable worship is giving oneself as a living sacrifice. (Romans 12:1)
Do I truly worship Him?
