One Celebrity actor wanted to become a powerful political leader. He organised rallies, and in one rally, there was an unexpected crowd. Some people fainted because of exhaustion. From the stage, he threw water bottles at those people. Several people died and were injured in the stampede. Nevertheless, he left the venue and went home in a private jet. There was no remorse or regret, or repentance. In contrast, when the Lord saw the crowd, he was filled with compassion and said: They are like sheep without a shepherd. (Matthew 9:36)
False shepherds
The false shepherds are the hired shepherds, and they are termed as. thieves. and robbers. They just work for some personal benefit. It could be money, popularity, or power. When danger appears, they run away, allowing wolves to scatter and devour the sheep. This is exactly what happened when people were killed in the stampede. However, the Lord Jesus Christ warned that they come with the intention to steal, kill, and destroy. (John 10:8-13)
Care nothing
False shepherds care nothing concerning sheep. They care for themselves, their reputation, life, and luxury. In contrast, the Good Shepherd cares for the sheep and gives His life for them. (John 10: 11) A Good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sake of the sheep.
Good caring shepherd
During the earthly ministry of the Lord, crowds gathered to listen to him. He did not use the crowd for fund-raising. If each had given one dinarai, he could have raised 25000 denarii. Instead, the Lord commanded His disciples: “You give them something to eat.” (Luke 9:13)
Promise of God
Followers of the Good Shepherd ought to be humble under or joint Shepherds. For every generation, God raises Godly leaders. “I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 23:4) It is the responsibility of the sheep to discern and follow the Good Shepherd and His under shepherds. Sadly, many chose butchers.
Can I say with David that Christ is my Good Shepherd? (Psalm 23:1)
