Delight in creation

The Cavendish Laboratory is a unit of the University of Cambridge. It is named after Sir Henry Cavendish. Over 30 researchers in this laboratory have won the Nobel Prize. There is the inscription at the entrance of the building, which is the charter also: “The works of the Lord are great; sought out of all them that have pleasure therein”. (Psalm 111:2) People should be delighted in studying God’s creation that reveals His power and divine attributes. (Romans 1:20) Studying to understand His creation, His plan, purpose, and requirements is a rewarding work.
Nature: Thousands of universities, millions of students, professors, researchers, billions of papers, journals, and books, could only scratch the surface of the ocean of knowledge of God’s creation. All finite minds of all humans who have ever lived on the planet Earth could not grasp the infinite knowledge, his attributes, and works. Humans can classify knowledge into many disciplines like physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, technology, etc., but they can never complete the studies or research in any of the chosen subjects.
Scripture: God graciously revealed Himself through His Word that includes Law, Prophets, Psalms, Gospels, and Epistles. As scientists and researchers study nature, there are millions who study the Bible and continue to discover new thoughts and applications of the divine revealed truth. Every generation produces bible scholars and theologians. Yet it is impossible to fathom a single attribute of God, His love – the breadth, length, height, and depth. (Ephesians 3:18-19)
History: Beginning from God’s creation, His care and sustaining power are beyond human understanding. Every generation, every culture, and every nation has experienced God’s faithfulness. God is not without witness; Heavenly God provides rain, fruits, food, and gladness. (Acts 4:17) God orders the events of history to fulfill His purposes and plans. It is amazing to know how the Bible has made nations great. Jordan Peterson and Vishal Mangalwadi have written about how the Bible shaped the history of the world. The contribution of the Church to making the world a better place to live is an exciting history.
