Some nations have issued Identity Cards in a digital format. These cards have microchips and are connected to the database of the government. This is also connected to all databases like health, education, finances (bank), insurance, work, travel (passport), house-ownership…etc. A few individuals in one country found out that their cards were deactivated though, they were alive. So, they were unable to avail any of the services including withdrawing money from the bank. That means they experienced digital death, though they were physically hale and healthy. It could be the punishment by the government. Digital death means alienated and abandoned. But spiritual death that results in a second death is more dangerous.
Spiritual death: God placed the first couple Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. They were allowed to enjoy all the fruits of the garden but forbidden to eat the fruits of a particular tree, and if they ate, they would die. (Genesis 2:16-17) Satan in the form of a serpent deceived them and they ate. They didn’t become like God, as Satan promised but found themselves naked. (Genesis 3:4-17) They did not physically die, but spiritually dead. In the Digital world, digital death means losing all connections with the government and others. Spiritual death is disconnection from the creator, loving Heavenly Father, and disoriented relationship with others and the environment.
Born-Again: As descendants of Adam and Eve, all humans are blinded by Satan, spiritually dead, and live in spiritual darkness. (II Corinthians 4:4) Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God came into this world born of a virgin, lived a Holy life, suffered death by crucifixion, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Those who repent from their sins, believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on behalf of him/her and forsake sins are born again. They are His children and worship Him in truth and spirit.
Second death: Those who reject Lord Jesus Christ will die in this world the physical death and his/her soul will be thrown in the Lake of Fire, which is the second death.
Am I alive in Christ?
