Dreams that last!

A fourteen-year-old disabled teenager had a dream in Wales, England. John Tucker, her elder brother, served as a missionary in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. John Tucker wrote in one of his letters about the women who were not allowed to study and had no opportunity to grow like women in Britain. She dreamed of a school and a college for girls, which exists even today as the Sarah Tucker College, the first women’s college in India. God pours His Spirit on people who dream and have visions to do great things for the Lord. (Joel 2:28-29)
Glory of God: The disciples asked the cause of a man being born blind. Culturally, they thought it was either the sins of the parents or the sins of the blind man. However, the Lord said: Neither, it is for the glory of God to be manifest. (John 9:2-3) Many able-bodied boys and girls were living when Sarah Tucker was alive. None of them is known or remembered. However, with gratefulness, thousands of people remember Sarah, a differently abled woman who lived just for 37 years. (1825-1857)
Confined yet free: Because of her disability, she had to be confined in her house; however, her mind was free. The Spirit of God helped her to envision a college, which became a burden of love for her sisters, unseen in a faraway land. That burden became a dream to establish a school and college for her.
Action: First, she prayed for a school and college living in another land. Second, she shared her burden with others, especially friends: Maria, Sophia, and Joana. Third, she had the skills of writing; she wrote in newspapers and pamphlets asking people to become her partners in the mission. Fourth, she raised funds to start the project. Five, she collected books and magazines for the institution and sent them.
School and college: Her efforts resulted in a school, later it became a college (efforts of her friends) after she went to be with the Lord. Thousands of girls have been blessed by this institution.
Do I have the courage to dream by the Spirit?
