Errors, Hidden faults, and Presumptuous sins

People are allergic to messages that warn people of sin. Blessings and prosperity are the desires of many. However, King David longed for holiness, righteousness, and peace. He prayed that he discern errors, a declaration from God as innocent from hidden faults, and keep him away from presumptuous sins. (Psalms 19: 12-13)
Errors: It is essential to discern and understand errors. That is possible only with the powerful searchlight of God’s Word and the Holy Spirit.
Secret or Hidden faults: First, the sins committed but forgotten. Second, sins for which there is no repentance. Third, sins are committed in thought and heart, but not implemented. Fourth, Sins committed in ignorance, not knowing it was a sin.
Presumptuous sins: Sins committed in pride, with an entitlement mentality, pride of life, and knowingly. Generally, the person knows it as a sin. God has warned through the people of God, friends, and prophets. Perhaps, they could have warned others of such sins. The sin is planned, relished, and becomes a comfort zone.
Progression of sin: There are several steps in the sin continuum. First, a temptation is entertained in the thought. Spiritual battles are fought are lost or won in the mind. Second, the thought is brooded over or meditated over. The inappropriate thought, instead of being banished from the mind, is explored. Third, there is a desire or wish for fulfillment. The person looks forward to having that momentary pleasure. Fourth, deliberately planning an action, a secret fault. Exploring possibilities and the best way to do it. Five, the plan is executed at the next available opportunity. Six, the planned act has become the performed act. Seventh, the performed act is repeated so that it becomes a habit. Such a person becomes a habitual offender or slave to that sin. Eight, the habit becomes a delight and comfort. Nine, the habit leads to misery and slavery. Ten, hardening of the heart, and sometimes loss of the capacity to repent, as the Spirit of God does not work anymore.
