Futile Comparison with Celebrities

One dancer who calls himself a worship leader, declared, that he competes with movie stars. He intends to become popular than them, then he adds that he does all these for the glory of His name. Strangely, biblically illiterate Christians follow such false leaders. First, since his priority is his popularity, he takes the name of the Lord in vain. Second, he covets human applause and violates the tenth commandment. Third, he robs God’s glory, on the pretext of giving him glory. (Exodus 20:7,17; Isaiah 42:8) Fourth, he forgets that the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but being filled with the righteousness, peace, and joy of the Spirit of God. (Romans 14:17)
Sacred Love for the Lord: The best, apt, and admissible comparison is: Do I love the Lord more than others? All other comparisons like: Do I serve the Lord better? Do I give the Lord more? Do I preach or teach better? Does my YouTube channel have more millions of subscribers than others? Lord Jesus Christ taught the disciples, that the measurement of love for him is obedience to His commandments. (John 14:15) Those who love the Lord will also serve the Lord with devotion.
Sacrificial Service: sacrifice marks the service to the Lord. A personal, daily, willing, and living sacrifice is the standard and reasonable measurement for serving the Lord. (Romans 12:1)
Suffering in service: Disciples will undergo suffering for His name’s sake, as they would be persecuted, hence blessed. Fruitful leaders will be hated without a cause, and not popular. (John 15:25) Paul and Peter write that God’s people are called to endure suffering. (Philippians 1:29; I Peter 2:21)
Steadfast Service: Humble servants are steadfast in serving the Lord. Job worshipped the Lord when he lost everything: wealth, health, and children. (Job 1:21) That is steadfast worship.
Spirit-controlled service: It is not being ‘high’ on one day and ‘low’ on another day. That is like being induced by addictions like drugs and alcohol. Paul writes to be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18)
