One person mocked Christians, stating that they are wasting their time praying. Who listens? Perhaps the walls and ceilings, and nothing else. “O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come.” (Psalms 65:2) The false gods may have ears, but are unable to hear or listen, certainly cannot answer either. (Psalm 135:17)
All: God is the Lord of all creation. The Lord, as Creator, loves all people in the world, so He sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, into the world to die for all, was buried, and rose on the third day. (John 3:16) It is not just Christians, all humans come to Him.
All languages: God knows all languages. There is no sacred language or preferred language of God. Hence, all humans could come to him with expectations.
All the time: God listens to humans at all times. God calls His people to call upon Him, with a promise of an answer, and in addition to show marvellous things. (Jeremiah 33:3)
Vocal: God not only understands languages, but he also understands people’s non-verbal speech. The stammers can also pray, for God understands. A child could also pray with confidence as God listens and understands. There are people with lower IQ; their prayers are listened to. God hears the groaning and mutterings of people. When overwhelmed, it is not possible to find words to utter, which is groaning; God hears that. (Romans 8: 26-27)
Unuttered: God understands even the unuttered words of a dumb. God answers the prayers of those who are unable to utter, but their lips move due to spiritual and emotional distress. Hannah prayed from her heart, lips moving, but her voice was not heard. (I Samuel 1:13)
Thoughts: God knows people’s words before they are spoken. That means God could read or know the thoughts of humans that linger in their minds. (Psalm 139:4)
Desires: Human desires happen in the heart and emotions. Later, it could become thoughts. However, the good Lord knows even the desires and longings of human hearts. (Psalm 37:4)
Do I have unshakeable confidence in the listening God?
