A religious woman used to do all rituals and also read some religious books. She could even listen to the voice of a guru, who had written a few books. She was in conversation with him to get counsel, guidance in times of need. Her daughter became sick, and at this crisis moment, she asked the guru-godman to heal her. She heard: “I do not have power over the spirit of any person; it does not belong to me.” The devotee who gave the status of god asked: “Then who is that?” She got the reply, “The spirit belongs to God, Jesus Christ. I do not have any power over women or men.” Then the devotee started searching for Jesus Christ, received the gospel light, and was transformed, becoming an ardent disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. David wrote: The Lord has set apart for Himself those who are godly. (Psalms 4:3)
To be with Him: The Lord Jesus Christ chose the twelve to be with Him. (Mark 3:14) He set them apart for Himself. They were consecrated for the Lord, to be with Him, learn from Him, follow Him, and imitate Him. God loves to be in fellowship with humans. Many true seekers find the Lord in miraculous ways because he loves them, reveals Himself to them, and chooses them to be with Him.
Enjoyment: The Lord delights in His disciples. When they accomplish great things for Him, he rejoices. The Lord rejoiced as secret things were revealed to the disciples by the Father. (Luke 10:21)
Special service: God chooses the godly people for a special service. Each disciple is unique and has a special task in God’s overall plan. No one is insignificant. All believers are God’s workmanship.
Holy unto the Lord: God calls His disciples to demonstrate the holiness and perfectness of God to the world. (I Peter 1:15-16; Matthew 5:48) Only the Bible teaches that the Lord is Holy, and only His disciples understand and could teach the world about holiness.
Am I living as one set apart for Him?
