Godly expectations

There is a profile of each profession, accepted as standard. Florence Nightingale is considered a model and example for a nurse. What is a profile of a godly mother? In the letter to Timothy, Paul writes about the widows, whom the church should care for. That list gives us a glimpse of a godly mother; the principle applies to all believers. (I Timothy 5:9-12)
Loyal wife: The marriage in the Bible is a covenant. By this spiritual covenant, they become one body. Godly married women are devoted and committed to their husbands, who love them. Her husband trusts her, and he will never lack gain. (Proverbs 31:11)
Loyal mother: Bringing up children is the responsibility of both parents. Nevertheless, mothers have more opportunities to influence, instruct, and inspire children. Teaching children to fear God, pray, read the Bible, and pass on faith to the next generation. The grandmother, Lois and Mother Eunice invested in the life of Timothy, laying the spiritual foundation of Scripture. (II Timothy 1:5)
Hospitality to strangers: Hospitality is a trait of Christians. Many families of Christians were attacked by mobs in India. These Christians took refuge in other Christians’ homes and churches. Though they were strangers, they were one in Christ, so they cared for them.
Washed feet of saints: Washing feet of others is a metaphor for service to others that brings renewal and refreshment. Beautiful are those feet of them that preach the Good News. (Romans 10:15) Praying, encouraging, and showing hospitality to those who are in ministry is a worthy act of spirituality.
Assisted those in distress: Godly women will extend help to those who are needy and in distress. She reaches out to help the poor and needy. (Proverbs 31:20)
Devoted to every good work: Those who are devoted to God, His Word, His Body, the Church, will be equipped to do every good work that brings glory to God. (II Timothy 3:15-17) Good works are those that bless individuals, families, communities and enhance the common good.
