God’s wrath and judgment

In September 1972, eleven Israeli athletes were kidnapped and killed by Palestinian militants during the Munich Olympics. Golda Meir, the Prime Minister of Israel, authorized the secret agents to search out and kill all those who were involved directly and indirectly. It took seven years for the spy agency to track the attackers and kill all of them. This operation was code-named Operation Wrath of God. It was probably based on David’s description of God’s judgment on the enemies of God. (Psalm 21:8-12)
Searched out
But God will search them out and find them to punish them. They cannot hide, even if they call out to the rocks to fall on them and hide them. (Revelations 6:16-17) There is no place anywhere in the universe for sinners to hide.
Schedule a time
God will judge in His own time; now it is the time of grace, but the time of anger will come. There may not be instant justice, but judgment is imminent.
Swallowed
They will be swallowed in God’s wrath, even their descendants. As the earth opened its mouth and swallowed Korah and the rebels associated with them, who challenged the God given authority of Moses and Aaron. (Numbers 16:32-35)
Scorched and burnt
The fire of God would consume them. Sodom and Gomorrah experienced God’s wrath. John and James wanted to punish a place in Samaria with fire from heaven. (Luke 9:54-55) They deserve judgment as they rebelled against God; they intended evil, devised a plot which they could not perform.
Sons and daughters
Even their descendants will not be spared. Naturally, the consequences of parents’ sin will come upon children. If a man is an alcoholic, the repercussions would affect the children.
Shooting arrows
God will punish them by shooting arrows towards their faces. Which means a direct attack. First, the arrows are sharp that pierce the face. Second, arrows are so swift that there is no way to dodge or escape. Third, God’s arrows are sure to hit the target. Four, it is deadly.
Do I underestimate the Holy God’s judgment?
