Hate-driven life

Sadly, in the world, many people are dictated, dominated, directed, and driven by hatred. A 26-year-old Rahul Kumar killed a 50-year-old man, Jayvir Singh. Rahul’s father was murdered or killed in a drunken brawl by Jayvir fifteen years ago. He was arrested and imprisoned for eleven years. Though the government had punished, Rahul thought it was insufficient; he deserved death. Hence, he arrogated to himself as judge and killed Jayvir. (Times of India, 9 October 2025)
Rage, Revenge, and Ruthlessness
When a person is filled with hate, it is the absence of love, goodwill, mercy, and generosity. Hatred generates unrestrained anger, which is destructive and leads to violence. Tragically, such violence could be brutal and ruthless. The attitude of revenge removes scope for forgiveness.
God’s love
The Bible teaches love. The attribute of God is love. (I John 4:8) Loving God desires reconciliation. Hence, sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to redeem the world. He died as an atonement sacrifice, was buried, and rose again from the dead. Hence, disciples are entrusted with the ministry of reconciliation. (II Corinthians 5:18) As the Lord died for humans, Apostle John calls disciples to love their brothers and sisters and be willing to give their lives for others. (I John 3:16)
Love and Light
Those who walk in light have loving fellowship with one another. (I John 1:7; 2:10) God commands light to shine in the hearts of people by the gospel. (II Corinthians 4:6) The Gospel dispels spiritual darkness. When spiritual darkness is removed, hate is also removed, and love fills the heart.
Hatred and darkness
Those who hate are those who live in spiritual darkness. They refused the light of the gospel that could transform them. Hence, they continue in darkness
Forgiveness
Sadly, those who are filled with hatred live in spiritual darkness. The life of the young man had one purpose: to avenge the murder of his father. This murder cannot bring his father back alive. Forgiving enemies as Jesus did on the cross is the only way for progress.
Am I filled with God’s love to forgive others?
