Young people who wish to lead a holy and pure life should store the Word of God in their hearts. (Psalm 119:9) It is possible by listening, understanding, and applying God’s word in their life. Those who heed wisdom will come into their heart, knowledge will be pleasant for the soul, discretion shall watch over, understanding will be the guard, and deliver from the Way of evil. (Proverbs 2:10-12)
Standard of purity: The Bible reveals the attributes of God, His holiness, and His righteousness. Knowing Him helps a person to understand what is right and what is wrong in the sight of God.
Reasons for purity: God’s Word reveals His wisdom and His goodness. Good God provides His Law to protect against sin, Satan, and the world.
Difficulty of purity: If a person is alive, there will be temptations and attacks of Satan. The Word of God warns a believer to be cautious, agile, and alert.
Blessing of purity: A person who listens to His Word, repents, forsakes sin, and accepts the Lord Jesus as savior. Blessed are those whose sins are forgiven and sins are covered. (Psalm 32:1)
The Way of Purity: The Word of God teaches the way of holiness. (Isaiah 35:8) The Wicked will not walk in that way.
The light of purity: The Word of God is a lamp unto the feet and light unto the path of believers. (Psalm 119:105) The light dispels spiritual darkness, fog, and the mist of seduction and temptation.
Washes from impurity: The Word of God washes a believer from impurity. (Ephesians 5:26) The Word of God is the truth, and the Word cleanses a person. (John 15:3; 17:17)
Walk in purity: God’s word is like a mirror or even a CT scan that helps all to see the inner spiritual and moral condition, repent, forsake, and walk in purity. (James 1:23-24)
Renewed and pure mind: The word of God renews the mind, freeing it from the bondage of culture, world, trends, traditions, rituals, superstitions, and principles of the world. (Romans 12:1-2)
