Is life predictable?

Many aspects of life have a pattern, and some are indeed predictable. Stages of life like birth, infant, adolescence, teenage…etc. In his book Decade by Decade, the author Bobb Biehl brilliantly outlines human life. Like Moses, it is good to pray that the Lord may teach us to use our life optimally for His glory. (Psalms 90:12-14)
Security 0-10: A child needs unconditional love, safety, and security.
Self – Teens 11-20: A child grows, and learns many things. Gradually forms opinions and ideas, and develops convictions.
Survival 21-30: The question asked is: “How can I survive in this adult world?” Hence try to find the right vocation and earn to survive.
Success 31-40: This period is marked with success. With youthful strength, dynamism, enthusiasm, and hard work, a person becomes successful in their profession.
Significance/Struggle 41-50: A person is not satisfied with success at this age, and aims for significance, to leave a rich legacy. This period is also a struggle. Wanted to raise a family, but now children are teenagers going to college. Struggle to pay fees and meet their needs.
Stride 51-60: This period is a stride. There could be stress and other health issues, if not careful. Advised to choose young people to mentor at this stage.
Strategic 61-70: According to the author this period is the most productive decade of life. The experience, expertise, and learning are all harnessed to give the best.
Succession 71-80: At this age, a person looks and longs for successors for his life and mission. Along with 51-60 years and 71-80 are the second best productive decades.
Slippery 81-90: This stage is termed as slippery. It is like climbing a slippery pole.
Sleep 91-100: At this stage, a person wants to go to sleep and not wake up. They fear the pain and suffering due to sickness and being dependent on others.

Wise people understand their decade, the potentials, the pitfalls and take appropriate steps to lead a fruitful life. It is not only useful to measure the decade of life and help others including children and grandchildren.
