In some countries, people are hostile to the Christian faith. Nevertheless, most commercial establishments take advantage of the season to sell Christmas-themed decorations, cards, cakes, stars, trees…Some miscreants entered a mall and destroyed a huge Santa image and many miniature images successfully. But the next year, the mall had the same kind of commodities for sale. The Mall Manager said, “They cannot lynch Santa. Even if he is lynched, he will be resurrected.” Even a myth, a symbol of celebration of Christ’s birth, cannot be lynched or killed; how can they destroy the Son of God or the Christian faith?
Hostile religious leaders: The Jewish religious leaders were envious of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 27:18) Hence, they hated Him. Actively, then conspired to kill the Lord. Wickedly, they recruited Judas to be the betrayer. They held an illegal Sanhedrin gathering at night, as only in the daytime could the Sanhedrin gather. Producing false witnesses, the religious gathering awarded a death sentence, but did not have the power to execute anyone under the Roman Empire.
Instigated mob: So, they went to the Roman court of Pontius Pilate. Nevertheless, Pilate found that Jesus was innocent. Trying to compromise with religious leaders, Pilate offered to release one prisoner during the celebration season. Instead of allowing Jesus to be released, they chose Barabbas to be released. And they instigated the mob to bay for the blood of Jesus and release Barabbas. (Matthew 27:15-26) A foolish mob that could not think on its own was misled by the religious leaders whom they trusted.
Inefficient administration: Pontius Pilate, instead of doing what is right according to the Law, tried to please the Chief Priest who placed an unrighteous and wicked demand. Sadly, he chose to wash his hands of the blood guilt and shifted the blame to the Jewish leaders and the masses.
Resurrection: When the worldly violent could not accept a mythological figure, Santa Claus, what can they do to the Son of God? They killed the author of life, but God raised Him from the dead. (Acts 3:15) Nothing can touch or harm the resurrected Christ.
Do I rejoice in the Resurrection of Jesus?
