Persistent Intercession

One beggar was persistent in getting something from a man. He was walking beside him, begging for some money, and it was quite a long distance. The rich man did not bother to look at him. As he turned the street corner, the beggar did not leave him. He walked until there was no one besides the rich man. Suddenly, he fell on his feet, caught hold of his legs, and pleaded to mitigate his hunger. God expects prayer warriors to be persistent like that beggar. (Isaiah 62:6-7)
Watchman on the wall: God’s people are called to be watchmen, alert, and always alert.
Never silent: Isaiah writes that they will never hold their Peace Day or night. First, God does not rest concerning Zion, and the Second Coming of the Lord. As Sovereign God, he rules, directs, and controls the history of the world. The direction of history is towards God’s ultimate eternal plan. Second, he does not want the petitioner, prayer warriors, His Church to fall silent, but to offer persistent prayers. The Church should not be lazy, lethargic, or lukewarm. Third, God expects His people to be partners with Him in the mission. Though he could accomplish by himself, without the help of anyone, He chooses to involve His children as co-workers to give them a sense of accomplishment. What a generous God He is!
Restless Saviour: The Lord Jesus Christ interceded at the Garden of Gethsemane, but the three disciples Peter, James, and John slept. (Matthew 26:36-46) The Risen Saviour is seated at the Right Hand of God as an advocate interceding for His people. (Romans 8:34) The Church should not sleep, but join Him in the intercession. Until the Church is a complete and glorious bride.
Give Him no rest: God calls His people to worship and intercede to Him, without giving Him rest. God does not need rest. Here, it means that God would complete his plan without giving a pause or any delay. Yet that does not give the opportunity for the church to fall silent.
Am I restless in intercession and seeking spiritual things?
