Production Standards

A manager working in the manufacturing unit that produces branded shirts for men shared how he had to monitor the standards. There are 32 aspects to be checked like stitches, buttons, pockets…etc. The company wanted to produce perfect shirts for men to wear. Despite all procedures, best practices, and vigilant supervision, there would be flaws, and some shirts would be rejected. The shirts also will wear out over time. God clothes his children with perfect garments both physical and spiritual.

Clothe of skin: Adam and Eve sinned by eating the forbidden fruit. They lost the glory that clothed them. Ashamed to hide their nakedness, they sewed fig leaves as clothes, which would become itchy. When the Lord visited them, he clothed them with a garment of skin. (Genesis 3:21) In the forty years in the wilderness, their clothes did not wear out. (Deuteronomy 29:5) God promised his disciples clothes as he clothes the flowers of the field. (Matthew 6:28-31)

The garment of salvation: This was the shadow of things to come. As a lamb was sacrificed, the blood gushed out and the skin was used to cloth Adam and Eve, the Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ will shed His blood to give a spiritual garment of salvation. (Isaiah 61:10) Those who repent of their sins and accept Lord Jesus as the Saviour will receive the Garment of Salvation. Because He died as the substitute on the Cross of Calvary, was buried, and rose again on the third day as the Lord and the Saviour.

Robe of righteousness: The righteous are those who are in Christ. (Romans 5:1) A person becomes a New Creature, that all the old are gone away. The New Life is walking in truth, righteousness, and doing the Will of God.

The garment of praise: Those who are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ are given the garment of gladness or praise. (Isaiah 61:3) Without anxiety, access to His presence, Promises, and privilege of prayer help a disciple to rejoice always in the Lord. (Philippians 4:4)

Am I clothed with the perfect spiritual garments?
