The Bible is God’s gift to humanity, that transforms individuals, families, communities, nations, and the world.
Removal of attraction to sin:
One of the great evangelists D.L. Moody said: “The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible.” Like the Law of gravity in nature that pulls everything down, the Law of death works in all humans and draws them to sin destruction, and death. It is a fatal attraction like the insects attracted to the light of fire, fall to death. God’s Word teaches holiness, trains in righteousness, and safeguards from wickedness.
Rediscovery of God’s purpose:
All humans born in this world have a God-designed purpose. Those who discover the purpose have meaning in life and enjoy peace in this world. Most people assume that their environment, parents, institutions, or governments determine their life purpose. They are sadly mistaken. Discerning God’s plan and His will is true wisdom.
Renewal of mind:
The human mind is filled with ideas that are learned from culture, society, parents, friends, school, social media, traditions, and customs. However, this information and knowledge are inadequate. Sometimes, they are contradictory to the truth revealed in the Word of God. Hence, reading and meditating on the Bible renews the mind to stop following the trends and traditions of the world, and to do God’s will that is perfect, good, and pleasing. (Romans 12:2)
Revival of Spirit:
It means to be filled with the Love of God and to love Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. (Romans 5:5; Matthew 22:37-40) Those who do not read and meditate on the Bible will lose their first love for the Lord. (Revelation 2:4) Psalmist prays to be revived by the Word. (Psalms 119: 93,107)
Rejoice in the Word:
Prophet Jeremiah says that he ate the Word of God when he found them. They were his joy and heart’s delight. (Jeremiah 15:16) Blessed people are those who meditate on the Word of God day and night, hence they are also joyful people. (Psalm 1:1-3)
