Respecting others’ rights

Feet on seats, litter, loud phone calls, loud music, people watching whole films without headphones…etc. When someone points that out, they disregard it. Anti-social behavior has become normal. Even kids disrespect train officials who are their grandparents’ age. (The Telegraph, 18 March 2025) Polite behavior, courteous conversations, and a dignified attitude are nostalgic for past generations. In most of the Western world, there was respect for the rights of others. That is rooted in the Royal Law: Love your Neighbor as yourself. (James 2:8) The Word of God preached permeated the culture, and public behavior was honorable.
Disregard for God: Sadly, God is not taught as a creator anymore in schools. Big Bang theory, evolution theory, and such funny theories have been substituted for the Creation by God as revealed in the Bible. If there is no God or Creator, there is no Fear of God. Hence, the beginning of wisdom itself is flawed. Seeking worldly wisdom, youngsters left the church, seeking wisdom, meaning, and purpose in superstitions, including yoga.
Disregard for the Bible: When the God of the Bible was rejected, obviously, the Bible was also forgotten. It was not proudly carried around, not a must on the table or book racks, not read in public places, and forgotten by so many Christians. Without a relationship with God and His Law, there is no meaningful relationship with others.
Disregard for churches: Without God, and the Bible, the churches were rejected. Many church buildings in the West, had to be sold or re-purposed to hotels, pubs, and for other religious purposes. The orderly behavior inside the Church was the model for behavior in other public places.
Disregard for families: All these factors disintegrated the families. Divorce became common. Without knowledge of the Covenant of God, a covenant with another person, the spouse was misunderstood and distorted. The families that were to be heaven on earth became hell on earth.
Disregard for others: The impolite behavior of youngsters in public is the fruit of all other root causes.
