Sinful curiosity

There is a proverb: Curiosity killed the cat. Being curious is natural for humans. However, being curious about things that are forbidden is dangerous. Sinful curiosity could lead to sin, as Adam and Eve ended up eating the forbidden fruit. (Genesis 3:6) Moses warned the Nation of Israel against sinful curiosity about other people whom God is dispossessing for their abomination. (Deuteronomy 12:29-32)
Be not ensnared: Satan always presents himself as attractive and pleasing. Hence, most humans are deceived.
Imitate: By ungodly curiosity, they should not learn of their ways. The people of Israel should not imitate their religiosity or spirituality. Sadly, Israel went after other inferior or non-existent gods, whose nations were defeated and discredited by magnificent displays of God’s power.
That way: The methodology of their worship should not be imported to worship Jehovah. The style of worship is of human origin, and not divine revelation. It is wise not to follow such rituals, customs, or traditions. It is not possible to sanctify or repurpose such methods of worship. God’s way is to worship in Spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)
Abomination: God warned Israel against the abominable practices of other ancient religions. Some were torturous, barbarian, and ruthless. One such is the burning of infants alive, placing them on a burning hot statue of Molech, while the screams of the infants were drowned in the loud beating of drums, and numbed the conscience of worshippers.
Tragic history of Israel: The wise king Solomon did an abominable and foolish thing by building a temple for Molech and sanctioning worship. (I Kings 11:7) Kings like Ahaz and Manasseh of Judah offered their sons, setting a wicked model for infant human sacrifices. (II Kings 16:3; II Kings 23:10) God punished the Northern Kingdom for their abominable worship. (II Kings 21:6)
Warning: There are a few who wish to adapt other religious practices as a format for worship, to attract others. The intention may be good, but there is a danger of being trapped in syncretism, which requires spiritual discernment.
Do I discern sinful curiosity and flee from such thoughts?
