Six questions

The calls were not going through. Several attempts, no breakthrough. His close friend has blocked his phone number. He was perplexed and had several questions arising in his mind. Asaph also went through such a dry season; he asked six questions that are similar to what a believer could ask in trying times. (Psalms 77:7-9) Does Asaph ask these questions to self-cure himself from unbelief?
Will the Lord spurn forever? A sense of rejection or abandonment overwhelms any person. When prayers are not answered, situations are not favorable, and there is spiritual agony, such questions are common for the saints of God. He will neither leave us nor forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5)
Will he never again be favorable? Asaph was perplexed about whether restoration, renewal, and revival were possible. Asaph could not perceive resurrection. God questioned Ezekiel: Can the dry bones live? (Ezekiel 37:3)
Has his steadfast love forever ceased? When the Babylonians ransacked the city of Jerusalem, the prophet Jeremiah wept and lamented. Amid that horror, he cries out: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. (Lamentation 3:23) Every believer should get that conviction and assurance in all situations.

Are his promises at an end for all time? God’s Promises are true, and always Yes in Christ Jesus. (II Corinthians 1:20) It is impossible for God to lie, and nothing is impossible for him. (Hebrews 6:18; Luke 1:37)

Has God forgotten to be gracious? Even a mother could forget a newborn child, but God will never forget His children. (Isaiah 49:15-16) He has remembered us and will bless us. (Psalm 115:12-13) God is not unjust to forget the services of love done by his saints. (Hebrews 6:1)

Has he, in anger, shut up his compassion? His compassion never fails. (Lamentation 3:22-23) As a Holy God, He will neither tolerate sin nor compromise with sin. Yet, he is compassionate with the sinner. Will God be angry forever? It is always good and safe to pray: Neither rebuke me in anger, nor discipline me in your wrath. (Psalms 38:1)
Do I trust Him in the valleys of death and sorrows?
