Stinky Pigs

A KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Mexico City landed in Bermuda after the foul stench of 100 pigs in cargo overwhelmed passengers and crew members onboard. KLM Flight 685 touched down in the island nation for “a fresh-air break” after the “distinctive aroma” of the hogs wafted up from the cargo into the cabin and cockpit area of the Boeing 787, a spokesperson for Bermuda’s LF Wade International Airport said. The 259 passengers and crew members and the 100 pigs were offloaded in Bermuda, where the human travellers were given hotel rooms while the stinky, four-legged travellers were placed under the watch of a government veterinarian — and possibly hosed down, Skyport which runs the airport, said. Stink and suffocation:
The passengers on the flight within six hours of flight, could not bear the stink. They needed fresh air. The Younger son, who used to live comfortably with his father, had lost everything and had to work as a shepherd for pigs. How much suffocated the Prodigal Son would have been? (Luke 15: 11-32)

Unclean animal:
In the Mosaic Law, pigs were considered unclean animals. They cannot be used in sacrifice. Though the hooves are divided, they do not chew the cud. (Leviticus 11:7; Deuteronomy 14:8) Hence, Jews do not consume pork.

Wallowing:
Pigs are comfortable in a filthy slush. Even if they are washed, they would happily return to the filth. (II Peter 2:22) Disciples, if they backslide, are like pigs enjoying and being comfortable in sin.

Drowned:
The demons in the man got permission to enter the two thousand pigs, which were drowned. First, it showed the authority of the Lord Jesus. Second, the legions of demons cannot stand against Him. Third, it reminded the disciples of the Egyptian army drowned in the Red Sea. (Matthew 8:28-34)

Pearls before swine:
The Lord Jesus Christ taught the disciples to discern and not offer precious things to rebellious, hypocritical, and judgmental people. (Matthew 7:6)

Do I flee away from sinful, stinking, demonic, rebellious influences?
