Can a stone be a witness? “And Joshua said to all the people, ‘Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord that he spoke to us. Therefore, it shall be a witness against you, lest you deal falsely with your God.” (Joshua 24:7) Interestingly, Joshua says that the stone heard all the words and was a witness against those who were present there.
Screen age: Now, technology has made screen age a reality. Most of the world is dependent on screens. If screens stop blinking, systems could stop. A power outage to servers causes software malfunction and could cause thousands of flights to be grounded, banking transactions to be halted, etc. The Screen Revolution is what Joshua perceived and foretold.
Silicon chips: The chips called Micro-chips or Silicon chips, are basically sand that can think. Sand could be processed and made into microchips that run computers, servers, and electronic gadgets, including smartphones.
Raw material: God the Creator did not need any raw material to create the world. He created everything out of nothing, just by His Word. (Genesis 1) God uses the raw materials like sand and stones to fulfil His purpose. Stones, even without being processed, are microchips for God.
Documents and witnesses: He would summon them to provide documents and videos of what happened, to testify against sinful humanity. If criminals could be traced through a series of CCTVs installed in many places, God traces all human activities and rewards accordingly. “Your sin will find you out.” (Numbers 32:23)
Praise and propagation: Holy God is enthroned in the praises of the people of God. (Psalm 22:3) Humans could be stopped from praising God, as the Jewish religious leaders tried to stop children praising God in the Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem. The Lord said that the stones would cry out. (Luke 19:40-44) Literally, the silicon chips cry out. In many places, missionaries are not allowed, but the silicon chips are carrying the messages.
Yes, nothing is new under the sun; stone age and screen age converge. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
Do I worship the God of ages who surpasses stone age and screen age?
