Strategy, priority, and vision

One warship was attacking a fort in a port. The fort had statues of saints on its wall. The ship Captain got enraged seeing the saints and ordered destroying all the statues of saints. Heavy artillery was used to destroy those statues. Then the shooting began from the fort towards the ship. The soldiers on the ship realized that all their ammunitions were exhausted, and as all were used shot at the saints.
Aspects of strategy: “Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, “Fight with neither small nor great, but only with the king of Israel.” (II Chronicles 18:30) The Syrian king had three aspects of offensive strategy. Paul writes that believers should not be unaware of the strategies of Satan. (II Corinthians 2:11)
Offensive strategy: This strategy begins with victory; that is victory after victory. It is not a fight for survival or escape. Lord Jesus Christ defeated Satan by His sacrifice on the cross. Paul writes: “He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.” (Colossians 2:15)
Right priorities: The focus or target should be right. The King commanded his lieutenants not to fight with small or great, but the target. The captain of the warship did not have the right priorities. He was fighting with statues as if they were army soldiers. All the energy, time, and ammunition was wasted. Loose canons damage the witness of the church.
End vision: The King of Syria had a clear vision, of how to end. The warship did not have a clear vision, of how the war should end in triumph. Sadly, today many Christian leaders are indulging in shooting the saints of the Lord. Some denomination leaders attack leaders of other denominations. Mainline churches attack the newer denominations with malice. Instead of the glory of God as the vision, humiliating other leaders becomes the end vision. The Lord Jesus Christ taught his disciples: “Those who are not against us, are for us.” (Mark 9:40)

Do I know the enemy and fight against him alone?
