Desire to swallow: Satan is termed as an ancient serpent as well as a roaring lion. He is on the prowl to devour, destroy, or swallow hapless victims. (Revelation 12:7; I Peter 5:8)
Alone in the forest: Farida was in the forest alone. Her husband regretted that he allowed her to go alone. He said, if he had been with him, the python would not have attacked her. Lone rangers are in the danger zone of attack. Some people claim to be Christ-followers but do not have any connection with the community of believers, the church. They are more vulnerable to the attack of Satan.
Wise discipline: Those who go to the forest, ought to be vigilant about wild animals like lions or pythons. Saints living in this corrupt and world abound with temptations, should be vigilant. First, they should avoid the areas where these animals prowl. Second, go with preparation to protect oneself and assault the predator. Third, it is wise to go in a group.
Flee: Lingering in the place of temptation is self-defeating. Joseph ran away from Potiphar’s wife. (Genesis 39:11-12) Depending on self, stating – I am strong – could be disastrous.
Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God is the sword of the spirit provided to believers to defend, as well as attack Satan. (Hebrews 4:12; Ephesians 6:17) Those who do not read, learn, study, and meditate on the Word of God are weaponless soldiers who could be easily defeated.
Fellowship: Christian fellowship provides a ring of protection for an individual believer. The Bible warns the believers not to neglect the gathering to worship, pray, break bread, listen to His Word, and have fellowship. (Hebrews 10:25)
