The Director General of Police of Madhya Pradesh, Kailash Makwana, said, “Police alone cannot curb rape incidents. There is moral degradation of society due to the availability of pornography through mobile phones and the internet. Children used to listen to teachers and family members earlier, but today no one can keep an eye on each other in a house. Now, all limits are breaking. The way obscene content is being served on the internet is distorting children’s minds. (NDTV 29 June 2025) The State has 20 cases of rape registered daily in 2024.
Corrupted mind: Eyes are the windows to the world. Through the eyes enter many things, including wicked, adulterous, and criminal ideas. Hence, the Bible warns against the principles of this world, including the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. (I John 2:16) The Mind is corrupted when a person follows the traditions and trends, or fashions, or patterns of the world. Instead, the mind should be renewed by the Word of God. (Romans 12:1-2)
Covenant with eyes: Saints of God, like Job, made a covenant with their eyes. They resolved not to look at a woman with lustful eyes. (Job 31:1) Today, there is a need to resolve not to look at the nude pictures of women and men flashed by wicked people on the screens of mobile phones. Even advertisements lack modesty.
Thought adultery: The Lord Jesus Christ taught that in the mind, thought adultery happens when a man just looks at a woman with a wicked intention. (Matthew 5:28) The World cannot know what had happened inside, no human policing could search out, and no human court could pass judgment for lack of evidence, but God evaluates and judges according to desires and intentions. (Proverbs 21:2) Pornography is a bait of Satan to seduce and destroy young people. Many are foolish like an ox taken for slaughter. (Proverbs 7:22) The Ten Commandments warn against the sin of adultery. (Exodus 20:14)
