True treasure- Zion’s Treasure

What is true treasure? For some, it was assets, for others, it was knowledge, for a few, it was power, and for the Godly few, knowing God and doing His will was true treasure. Prophet Isaiah writes: “The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness, and he will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is Zion’s treasure. (Isaiah 33:5,6)
Fear of the Lord: The true treasure for any person is the Fear of the Lord. It is the fountain or source of all blessings. When a person fears the Lord, they trust Him. Then knows about God and loves Him. Those who love Him will keep His commandments. (John 14:21)
Justice & Righteousness: Those who love the Lord will love justice and righteousness. In the Bible, righteousness is used to denote being morally right and being in the right standing and relationship with God. So, when a person receives the Lord Jesus Christ, repents from sins, receives forgiveness, and is declared righteous before God. (Romans 3:21-24; II Corinthians 5:21) Justice in the bible is the application of God’s righteousness in day-to-day life in all interactions and brings the importance of fairness, equality, no partiality, liberty, and integrity.
Stability: God is described as the Rock; hence, those who know Him and become His children as stable, steady, and will spend eternity with Him. (Deuteronomy 32:4) They are unshakeable, as His Kingdom is unshakeable. (Hebrews 12:28)
Salvation: Fear of God leads to faith, which leads to salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9) It is not by works, but by Grace, the Gift of God. The definition of salvation is to be saved from the penalty of sins of the past, the power of sins in the world to lead a holy life, and the presence of sin, to be in Heaven where sin cannot enter.
Wisdom & Knowledge: The real treasure is knowing God, His commandments, discerning His will, and fulfilling His plan and purpose in this world.
