Uncertainty

Change may be the only unchanging fact about the world. However, the postmodern generation faces Uncertainty amid changes. In the book The Twenty-Something Dr. Meg Jay writes: The Twenty-something who grew up in the shadow of the 9/11 terrorist attack on Twin Towers, violence in schools especially in the USA, Lockdown, and frequent job changes, are unsettled. The author states the era in which they live is unsettled. In other words, it is a VUCA world: Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous world.
Fear of failure: Young people are afraid to fail. Sadly, students commit suicide fearing failure in their studies or entrance examination for higher education. Many families’ life fails which ends in divorce.
Fear of the future: It is difficult to look into the future with confidence. When the world collapses because of climate change, wars, COVID-19, social unrest, and economic disasters; fear of the future grips individuals, families, communities, and nations.
Fear of scarcity: Starvation deaths, hunger, poverty, lack of purchasing power, unemployment, famine, drought, and natural disasters have affected the supply chain of food for many nations. Malnutrition deaths, natural disaster deaths, and other health challenges bring to focus the issue of scarcity. Food prices would increase and paying becomes difficult. (Revelation 6:6)
Terrible times: Paul describes the uncertain times as Terrible or Turbulent times. (II Timothy 3:1-5) The sins have multiplied and brought more and more wickedness. The world is unable to discover the root cause of such Uncertain names. Nevertheless, the Bible teaches that sin is the root cause of all evil in the world. The world is cursed because of the sins of humans. (Isaiah 24:6)
Unshakeable Kingdom: In contrast to the cursed, unstable, and uncertain world, the Kingdom of God is unshakeable. The King of kings is unchangeable. (Hebrews 12:28; 13:8) Those who trust the Lord, the unchanging gospel, are unshaken like Mount Zion. (Psalms 125:1-2) The faith of the disciples is on the Corner Stone, tested stone, tried stone, precious stone, a sure eternal foundation, who is the Lord Jesus Christ. (Isaiah 28:16)
