Two pastors were visiting a town. They reached late at night due to a delay in their train travel. After settling in a hotel room, they felt hungry. Hence, they went out and only one shop with a big board: Vitamin shop, was open. They thought that the shop would have some food or biscuits or bread. It was a shock for them, it was an alcohol, whisky, wine, and beer shop. The shop owner justified the advertisement stating, that drinking boosts them like a vitamin. Some websites attract youngsters in the name of college education but lead to online gaming or pornography.
Deceptive: Satan is always deceptive. He portrays and promises something and provides something else. Promising Adam and Eve that they would be like gods, delivered spiritual death, sin, curse, and separation from God as gifts to humanity. (Genesis 3:5) Satan intends to seduce and destroy. He uses deception and doubt as his strategic weapons.
Attractive: The shop’s name was attractive to the hungry people. The Serpent was one of the most attractive beings among the creatures. Satan distinguished himself as a serpent. Sin is always attractive, providing temporary joy, but the end is destruction.
Broad Gate: The Lord Jesus Christ taught: “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:13,14) The Lord Jesus Christ Himself is the gate. (John 10:9)
Discernment: Without discernment, it is difficult to choose the right way. Some ways seem to be appropriate or right, but the end is death. (Proverbs 14:12) There is only a gate to enter for salvation. There is only one way to eternal life in heaven. There is only one name under heaven, and among humanity, through which a person could be saved. Those who fail to discern this will perish. (John 10:9; 14:6; 3:16; Acts 4:12)
Have I entered the right gate for salvation?
