There are several reports about wealthy individuals writing wills that give all their wealth to their pets, such as a dog or a cat. One person built a memorial for his dog, with a twenty-four-hour air-conditioned tomb. Some Christians also insist that the priests should perform the funeral service (bible reading, prayers, songs) for their pets.
Creation: The creation account by Moses is instructive and insightful. God created the whole universe and every aspect, before he created Adam and Eve to be placed in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 1) God specially created Adam. Unlike other non-human or sub-human beings, who were created by His Word, man was created from dust, in His own image, and God breathed into his nostrils the breath. (Genesis 2:7) Hence, humans are the crown of all creation. (Psalm 8:5)
Donkeys: The Lord Jesus Christ rode a mule in the triumphal entry into the city of Jerusalem. That does not make a mule or a donkey holy or special. There is no record of the mule in the gospels. Some religions teach that the animals used as vehicles by gods are sacred. God gave the ability for a donkey to speak to Balaam to warn him of the path of disaster he had chosen. (Numbers 22:28) There is no evidence that the donkey was given a status of God.
Fish: God used a fish to teach Jonah the lessons of obedience, the mission of God, and God’s Sovereign rule and authority. The fish is neither God nor worthy of worship.
Ravens: God commanded the ravens to provide food for Elijah. (I Kings 17:1-7) Elijah did not worship ravens; he understood they were God appointed agents to bring his provision of food.
Domesticated pets: Throughout the history of humanity, there have been animals domesticated, such as cows, sheep, camels, and herds. Pet animals are also evidenced in many cultures. However, making them as gods and trying to create memorials does not exist in the Scripture.
Warning: Paul warns against giving the glory of God to any animal. (Romans 1:23)
Do I give glory to God alone?
