Wisdom rejected

Throughout the history of humanity, the wisdom of God has been rejected, refused, and ignored. The Bible gives three categories of people who reject the Word of God. (Proverbs 1:22-25) Wisdom calls, invites, and graciously provides understanding, knowledge, and prudence to those who are willing to listen and receive. God has promised to pour out His Spirit and reveal His words to make a person wise.
Simple: They are those who are untrained in their mind regarding wisdom. How long, weeks, months, or years, will the simple ones keep on rejecting and neglecting the Word of God? Simple ones love their simplicity and hate knowledge.
Scoffer: Scorners and scoffers are those who think they know everything. (Proverbs 21:24) They are not serious about important things, but laugh at them. Warren Wiersbe writes: While the simple one has a blank look on his face, the scorner wears a sneer.
Stupid: Fools and the stupid are those who are dull and stubborn. It is not about low IQ or lack of education, but lack of desire for spiritual things.
Downward journey: A person begins as gullible or simple, progresses to become a fool or a stupid, then ends up as a scoffer or a scorner.
Rejection: Their spiritual status of darkness is because of their choice. Embracing wisdom is the beginning of positive transformation. However, they were not bothered. First, they refused to listen to God’s Word, God’s wisdom. Disobedience and rebellion lead to a refusal to listen. Second, they ignored reproof. Pride keeps a person stubborn, even when warned. Third, they rejected the stretched-out hand of God. It is a demonstration of God’s love, glory, and power, which they rejected as of no worth. Fourth, in their path of destruction, God counsels them to repent and return, but the counsel of God is ignored; thus, God is ignored.
Destruction and calamity: When wisdom is rejected, the obvious result is destruction that comes like a storm or a whirlwind. (Proverbs 1:26-27) God is not obliged to hear cries of repentance at that late time.
