The Indian male grooming market has grown at a rapid pace from the level of $ 643 million in 2018 to $ 2 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow to about $ 3.5 billion by the end of this decade. Male grooming consists essentially of five segments, namely, skincare, haircare, shavecare, fragrance, and other products. Are people choosing splendor over wisdom? Lucifer, the archangel, fell because of his pride. Tragically he chose splendor over wisdom. Lucifer Satan destroyed himself and continues to destroy the world. “Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor.” (Ezekiel 28:17)
Vainglory
Charm is deceitful, beauty is vain. (Proverbs 31:10) External beauty will fade away over time. Peter exhorts not to focus on enhancing beauty with external additions. He brings out three things: braiding of hair, golden jewelry, and clothing. Instead, I should focus on my inner personality. (I Peter 3:3-4)
Corrupted Wisdom
Lucifer focused on beauty and splendor because of his pride. Pride corrupted his knowledge and wisdom. Hence, he gave priority to splendor. Wisdom should be desired and sought after.
Precious
Peter gives insights into imperishable beauty or unfading beauty that is precious in the sight of God. Gentle and quiet spirit is the secret of beauty affirmed by God.
Gentleness and quiet spirit
This has been listed as Fruit of Spirit by Paul. (Galatians 5:22-23) Some think gentleness is a weakness. In fact, to be gentle a person must be strong in spirit, disciplined, and have self-control. When a woman was caught in the act of adultery, the Lord exhibited gentleness. He did not get angry with accusers; he was calm and simply wrote on the ground. After all the accusers left, with gentleness Lord asked her to go and sin no more. (John 8: 1-11) Gentleness is the quiet response of a spiritually mature when treated abrasively, uncourteous, and rudely.
Radiant Moses: The face of Moses shined that he had to wear a veil. That could be termed as glorious beauty. (Exodus 34:29-35)
Do I radiate the love and joy of the Lord?
