Child-like faith

This was circulated widely on social media. It cannot be ascertained if it was a real story. A small child used to come to the church and pray every day. What does she pray for? The priest who observed stopped her and asked her: Do you know how to pray? What do you pray for? She said, “I do not know how to pray. But tell God the alphabet: A, B, C, D…Z and ask the Lord to make prayers from them.” The faith of the child is simple, but profound.
God invites and welcomes: God loves to invite and welcome those who come to him in faith, knowing he is the rewarder of those who seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6) The small girl must have considered herself blessed because she knew that she was invited to His presence. (Psalm 65:4)
God listens: The child understands that the invisible God is a person who listens to the prayers of children like her. She may not be able to define prayer or the process of the spiritual discipline of prayer, yet she knew prayer as talking with God. The Bible teaches that all nations come to God, who hears the prayers. (Psalm 65:2) He is a listening God, understanding God and an answering God.
God knows: The little girl was sure that God knows her, her thoughts, and her desires. She could not verbalise all she wanted. Some things were beyond her comprehension. Like this child, believers should know that there are many things beyond human perception and control. Nevertheless, God has absolute control over all things.
God loves: Teachers could give assignments to students, but students cannot. Here, the child knew God loves little children, and she could outsource the task of sentence construction for her prayer. Lovingly, God will be glad to do that.
God cherishes: God will not break the bruised reed and quench the flickering light. (Isaiah 42:3) He tenderly nurtures His people to grow in their spiritual life.
Do I have a child-like faith through the revealed Truth about God?
