Dignified Farewell or Dignified Welcome

There is a hoarding claiming a Dignified Farwell. Upon scrutiny is an agency that provides funeral services like ambulance, coffin boxes, burial process, and constructing a monument. Mother Teresa wanted to give dignity in death to the poor, marginalized, oppressed, and abandoned.

Dignified welcome to a martyr:
The death of Stephen was violent. It was neither a dignified death nor a dignified farewell. For believers, these are not important. “When Stephen died, he was received in glory in Heaven, as the Savior stood up to receive his servant. But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.” (Acts 7:55) Throughout history the people of God have died by the brutality, ruthlessness, and hostility of God-haters. The Bible also records those who were tortured, mocked, flogged, and died destitute, afflicted, and mistreated. (Hebrews 11:36-38)

Death
One who cannot handle death, cannot handle life also. For all those who live will die, there are no exceptions. But those who live should reflect and prepare for life after death. There are a few, who write will in detail, how they should be buried or cremated. In some cultures, the children are burdened to carry out the death wishes by going on pilgrimage to cremate the dead.

The door opens to heaven
Paul writes that the last enemy of humans is death. (I Corinthians 15:26) Since the Lord Jesus Christ defeated death, Christians also defeat death and enter into His eternal presence. The eyes are closed in this world and are opened in heaven with a glorious body.

Precious and Blessed
Disciples of the Lord are delivered from the fear of death. (Hebrews 2:15) Precious is the death of the saints in the sight of the Lord. (Psalms 116:15) They are also blessed as they rest from all labor and enter Eternal Rest. (Revelation 14:13) God rejoices in receiving His saints in His presence, saints rejoice as they are chosen to live in His presence forever.

Do I anticipate a dignified welcome in heaven?
