The worship team sang a beautiful song. All who listened were inspired and uplifted in their spirits. They gave great applause. However, no one remembered the writer of the song, who was a deaf and dumb saint of God. Did God forget the writer? Or did the writer glorify God more than others, though he was not present? In the history of the church, there were many who with disabilities wrote hymns, sermons, theology, stories, novels, plays, poetries, and movie scripts. God exhibited His power through their weaknesses, His name is exalted and glorified. (II Corinthians 12:9,10) Helen Keller, Fanny Crosby, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Art Tatum, George Shearing, Lennie Tristano, Daine Schuur, Amy Carmichael and many others glorified God and inspired others.
Splendor of holiness: Worshipping and glorifying God ought to be done with holy intentions, as living sacrifice, and eschewing all evil. Holy God can never compromise with sin. Without repentance, approaching God is dangerous. Strange fires, self-determined styles, or unauthorized forms of worship invite God’s judgment as Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu were killed. (Leviticus 10:1)
Full strength: Worship is to love the Lord with all strength, soul, emotions, heart, mind, and spirit. All are invited to love and worship the Lord. Worship in the church gatherings is not an exhibition of talents on a stage performance, but the involvement of the whole congregation.
Daily glorification: The Lord Jesus Christ called disciples to take up the cross and die daily. (Luke 9:23-25) In other words, Paul writes to the believers in Rome to yield as a living sacrifice which is a reasonable or worthy service. (Romans 12:1)
Glorify Heavenly Father: The Lord Jesus Christ taught the disciples to live in such a way that non-followers of Christ are provoked to praise God the Heavenly Father. (Matthew 5:14-16) Giving savor and flavor like salt to people around is worship. Being a light guiding those in darkness is true worship. Giving hope like the city on the hill is an invitation for perishing people to come and receive salvation.
Do I glorify God, and provoke others to glorify God?
