In his book Redefining Success, according to Jesus, Omar Djoeandy calls Christians to practice holistic generosity. Instead of being self-satisfied with giving tithes from their income, Christians should be stewards of life, talents, gifts, and other resources. (Malachi 3:10) Believers should know how to invest in the Kingdom of God wisely, strategically, and optimally.
Time: Most people perceive themselves as busy and have no time to spare for others. There is a proverb: “Busiest people always have time to spare.” Wise people know their purpose in life and the priorities of the Kingdom of God; hence, they always allocate time. People who do not know the meaning of life are distracted and spend their time in unprofitable and vain things.
Presence: Loneliness affects many people, and some even commit suicide. They long for a visit from another human being, a meaningful conversation with someone, and fellowship that would edify them.
Abilities: God has given talents and spiritual gifts to all believers. Discovering them, discerning how to use them, deploying them for Kingdom purposes, and developing them to meet the relevant needs of the situation is the responsibility of each believer. Sadly, many believers never discover them, and they are buried.
Wisdom: In the Digital world, people are seeking advice, suggestions, and counsel. Sadly, much such counsel is ungodly, sometimes sinful rebellion against God. Believers should position themselves to give Godly counsel, righteous options, and just solutions that are biblical and bring glory to God.
Experience: God allows believers through a variety of experiences. God even turns the foolish decisions of believers to fulfil His purpose. Such experiences would be unique for each Christian. Hence, the life lessons learnt could become a model, inspiration, and guidepost for others.
Expertise: Some people have a good education and expertise in certain fields according to their profession. People who do not have expertise may be floundering and groping in the darkness. For example, many families do not know how to make a family budget. Financial experts could provide help for all Christian families.
