One news report read: “The schools and health centers for the poor lacked basic medicines and foods because scales for weighing children meant to benefit from the program had been tampered with to conceal the fact that they were all underweight because of endemic malnutrition.” The staff members were aware that the faulty scales were used, and the resources meant for children were looted by the officials and politicians. Yet, they were silent. “A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight.” (Proverbs 11:1)
Double-deprived children: First, the children in remote areas and among the urban poor are malnourished. There are special schemes to identify such children and provide them with additional food and vitamin supplements. Second, by tampering with the scales for weighing the children are deprived of essentials to survive.
Abomination: The word abomination means terrible, horrific, evil, and wicked things. The Bible warns that deception in any form is an abomination to the Lord. If defrauding ordinary people is an abomination, how much more depriving children of their rights?
Murder: Malnourished children without proper medical intervention would be exposed to infections, and experience stunted growth. Many of them die early. They are like Pharoah who commanded the infants to be thrown into the river Nile. (Exodus 1:17)
Righteousness: The midwives feared God more than Pharoah, so did not throw the boys into the river, instead saved them. One of them was Moses. Instead of doing righteous deeds, these people are looting money that is provided for these children.
Satanic agents: The trait of Satan is to kill, steal, and destroy. (John 10:10) The people who are supposed to save children, kill them by deprivation, steal their life, and future, and destroy the life of parents and the community.
Commission and Omission: This is the horrible sin of commission as they willfully looted what was meant for the poor. It is also the sin of omission that they had the power to do good but failed to do what was right.
Do I hate and run away from abominations?
