Suicide for a cat!

In the city of Hyderabad, a 23-old medical professional committed suicide as she was advised not to keep a cat as her pet. She got a cold and cough, and has been continuously suffering since she brought a cat home a few weeks ago. Her mother and grandmother also lived with her. (NDTV 22 March 2026)
Wrong object of love: Tragically, the trained medical doctor loved a pet cat more than her human life, dignity, meaning and purpose. The bible teaches that humans are the crown of creation. (Genesis 1:29-31) Some people erroneously believe that all lives are equal or the same. That means the life of a worm or a bird, or a human are of the same value, which is absurd. God created all by His word, just one utterance, but man and woman were created in His image.
Wrong priorities: Instead of loving the creator God and other fellow human beings, this young girl was obsessed with a cat. God first loved us; hence, humans have to demonstrate reciprocal love to Him alone. (I John 4:19) Instead of loving fellow humans, suffering humans, and the poor, people love pets. More than her mother and grandmother, who nurtured and cherished her, she loved cats.
Wrong purpose of life: A youngster who studied for nearly six years to become a medical doctor did not understand the purpose of life. She was trained to care for the sick, weak, and bring healing to illness; however, she did not understand her call and purpose in life. Her life would have real meaning only when she served others.
Wrong decision: Elders in the family were concerned about the physical suffering that would make her ineffective in her job. It could have long-term consequences. Instead of understanding their care and concern, she saw that as unwarranted interference and lost her interest in living. One who was trained to save life, took a wrong and pathetic decision to take her own life. God is the author of life, and no one has the authority to take one’s life or the life of others.
Do I value my life as God’s gift and live for His glory?
