A link for 24 hours seamless service was provided by a reputed bank. When clicked this appeared: “Hey, It’s a little late at night. Our system is taking a nap, right now. Request you to come back early this morning.” The bank assured customers of excellent service, yet they failed. Their system had to take a nap – long or short? However, the Bible teaches about God: “Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” (Psalms 121:4)
1) Like Eagle: A mother eagle stirs the nest to push eaglets to learn flying. If an eaglet falls, the mother eagle is so agile that it plunges down and lifts the eaglet before it could touch the ground. (Deuteronomy 32:10) God protects his people like the mother eagle.
2) The Apple of His eye: Humans are very protective of their eyes. God considers each believer like that of the apple of his eye. (Deuteronomy 32:11)
3) Bring back: To escape Esau’s murderous fury, Jacob had to leave his home for safe place in his uncle Laban’s home. On the way, Lord spoke to him assuring him to bring back. (Genesis 28:15) Yes, Jacob came back after twenty years, fulfilling his promise.
4) Throughout the year: Lord’s promise is not for a day or two or a week. Is it all the days of life, from the beginning of each year to the end. (Deuteronomy 11:12)
5) Coming and going: All humans have to go out and come in. Today, the world has become a dangerous place. People who go out may not come back. Yet, the Lord has assured his children of protection in all their journeys. (Psalms 121:8)
6) Counsel: Lord promises to give guidance. “I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” (Psalms 32:8) God knows the way of the righteous. (Psalms 1:6)
7) Wall of fire: God’s eyes are upon his people to protect them like a firewall. (Zechariah 2:5)
God’s promises are not empty words, but truth that could be experienced in our daily lives.
Am I grateful to God for watching over us?
