Repentance is an act of humility, filled with sorrow for being irreverent, evil, and mean towards God and others. In the Last Days, before the Coming of the Lord many plagues will afflict humanity, several people will die. Those who are alive, will not repent. “The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk, nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.” (Revelation 9:20-21)
1) Works of their hands: Many people have their own values and determine what is right or wrong. They refuse God’s absolute standards and expectations. Hence, they continue to do what they believe is good.
2) False gods: Many people exchange the truth for a lie. Hence, reject the living, true, creator God and choose to worship creation like sun, moon stars or animals, birds, reptiles or create their own gods from various materials like wood, stones, precious metals. (Romans 1:23)
3) Violence: Physical abuse, verbal abuse and emotional abuse that kills a person is common today. Domestic violence is happening on a large scale. Street fights, road rage, riots, killings, premeditated murders…are every day’s news.
4) Sorceries: Engaging with unseen forces, magical powers, divination, fortune-tellers, magic-arts, witchcrafts are clearly forbidden in the Scripture. (Leviticus 19:26; II Kings 21:6; Deuteronomy 18:14)
5) Sexual immorality: Thought adultery and fantasy like pornography and sex toys have increased. Pre-marital sex, extra-marital sex is considered normal. Homosexual relationships are celebrated. Sexual abuse of children, gang-rape of women have multiplied.
6) Thefts: It is not physical thefts like housebreaking, gold chain snatching… alone. Robbery through blackmailing, kidnapping, and extorting is increasing daily. Body parts are stolen in hospitals from poor and gullible people and sold to the rich. Shrewd people can use software to hack systems and loot money from banks. Impersonation to cheat has increased.
