When people were asked: When have you felt loved? There were six prominent answers to the survey. God has demonstrated His love for humanity in an exemplary manner.
When someone listens attentively: There are too many noises in the world. However, there are a few that are desperate to call for love, affirmation, justice, and needs. These voices or cries or groans are not audible to most people. Only those who love, could deduct such whispers, and respond positively. The fatigued, tired, and exhausted Lord Jesus Christ listened to the prayer of the penitent thief. (Luke 23:43)
Makes me feel important: Zacchaeus had heard about Lord Jesus Christ, the popular Rabbi. He just wanted to see him from a distance. As a short man, he climbed up a sycamore tree to have a clear view of him. However, Lord Jesus stood just under the tree, called Zacchaeus, and gave him the honor and privilege of hosting him. The excommunicated tax collector was made to feel accepted and important by Lord Jesus Christ. (Luke 19:1-10)
Encourages me: Lord appeared to Paul and encouraged him to continue the ministry of preaching in the city of Corinth. Facing multiple problems and opposition, Paul was discouraged. Loving God encourages his servant. (Acts 18:10)
Inspires or challenges me: Nathaniel was not sure if anything good could come from Nazareth. Lord said he saw Nathaniel when he was under a fig tree. Lord inspired Nathaniel that he will see the heavens open and angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man. (John 1:51)
Cares for me when I am hurt: People long for love, assurance, and care when they are physically, emotionally hurt. Lord Jesus did not condemn the woman caught in adultery. Commanded her to sin no more as he cared for her. “And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” (John 8:11)
An unexpected gift: People who love others express themselves by giving gifts. God gave Lord Jesus Christ, through Him salvation as an indescribable gift to us. (II Corinthians 9:15)
Do I esteem, enjoy and thank God for His love?
