Elon Musk, one of the richest people in the world posted a Twitter message: “I am ok with going to hell. If that is indeed my destination. Since the vast majority of all humans ever born will be there.”
1) Picnic? Elon Musk’s statement reveals his ignorance. God is loving, almighty, Holy, sovereign, and gracious. Holy God punishes sin and cannot compromise. Punishment for sin is eternal hell. Hell is not an exotic resort frequented by rich and powerful elites.
2) Free will or Destiny? Elon Musk understands that he has no control over his life or his life choices. For him chances or luck or fate is the ultimate ruler of his life. Sadly, he does not understand God has created in his image with spirit, soul and body. Each individual is given freedom to make choices, which is termed as Free Will. Humans are not programmed robots, but free beings to decide their own course of life. In fact, God does not send people to hell. People choose hell by rejecting the Truth, Lord Jesus Christ.
3) Majority in hell? Elon thinks that the majority of humanity will be in hell. On what basis he came to such a conclusion is not clear. Voting with a majority can be foolish logic. Elon Musk seeks comfort in the crowd. If a majority choose untruth, unrighteousness, he will also go with them, instead of having conviction to search, know and take a stand for truth.
4) Biblical truth: The Bible clearly teaches that hell is a real place and is termed as a Lake of fire. (Revelation 19:20) Hell has been prepared for Satan and the fallen angels. (Matthew 25:41) The hell is a place of torment, suffering and gnashing of teeth. The people who will be in hell will know their identity (who they are), remember life on earth, recognize others who are in heaven, able to speak, and feel. (Luke 16:19-31) However, it is pointless eternal suffering.
