Priority of relationships

“New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern’s three-year-old daughter Never had decided everything, even the affairs of state, could wait.” While the Prime Minister was addressing the nation about Covid 19 restrictions, from her home, ‘mummy’ came the sound from Neve. She demanded her attention; the PM had to apologise and attend to her. (NDTV 11 November 2021) Parents’ relationship with children is amazing of all human relationships. That is the relationship that God offers humanity. It is also a priority relationship that God gives His believing children.
1) Right to be His child: Those who repent from their sins, decide to forsake sins, accept by faith the vicarious death, burial and resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ, will become a child of God. (John 1:12) Human governments could give only earthly citizenship and fundamental rights when alive. God can give us eternal spiritual rights to be His children.
2) Right to call Abba: Paul reminds that we are not granted spirit of fear or slavery, but adoption or sonship to call Him Abba not just from lips, from the depth of our being. (Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6)
3) Co-heirs: It is not being children without inheritance. God has promised that we are co-heirs with Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (Romans 8:17)
4) Glory: God gives us glory that was lost by the first couple Adam and Eve. (John 17:22l; Romans 3:23)
5) Riches: In Christ we have great eternal riches that are beyond human comprehension and description. (II Corinthians 8:9)
6) Righteousness: As children of God, we are justified or declared as righteous. (Romans 8:33) It is not just a declaration that we are not guilty, but as righteous, holy and blameless.
7) A satellite phone link: God has given us a promise to answer when we call. This is like a ‘hot line’ that will reach the Lord at any time, from any place and in any situation. (Jeremiah 33:3)
It is a great, grand privilege to belong to the global eternal family of God.
Do I know the eternal God as my father?
