India adopted the constitution on 26 January 1950. That day is celebrated as Republic Day.
Ultimate Lawgiver: God is the ultimate Lawgiver as He is the creator, Sovereign, Almighty, Righteous and Just. If humans, including the parliaments or kings, arrogantly think they are the ultimate authority, their laws would be dangerous. Law must be enacted under God’s authority and according to His attributes, expectations, will, and commandments. No nation could defy God and survive.
The Spirit of Law: Lord Jesus condemned the Pharisees who fulfilled outer expectations of the Law but neglected the spirit of the law. In performing rituals, keeping traditions, and giving tithes, they were good. However, they had neglected justice, mercy, and faithfulness. (Matthew 23:23)
The Intent of Law: According to Paul, the purpose of the intent of Law was to expose or reveal sin in human beings. That will help them to seek salvation. (Galatians 3:19-25) The Word of God is like a mirror, in modern terms a laser scanner that reveals the inner filthiness and sinfulness. (James 1:23)
The content of Law: As the Mosaic Law reveals there are Spiritual laws of worship, moral laws to govern behavior and relationships in society, and hygiene and dietary laws to lead a healthy life.
The result of Law: By keeping the Law a person could live. (Proverbs 7:2) However no human is capable of being perfect by keeping the Law. Hence, Lord Jesus came into this world to fulfill the Law and die on behalf of humans in accordance with the Law and rose again from the dead. (Matthew 5:17)
Teach Law: God expected Abraham to teach the Law, covenant, and Promise to his descendants, so that they will become a mighty and great nation. (Genesis 18:18,19)
Righteous Nation: A nation could become a great nation by being righteous. (Proverbs 14:34) The nation that listens to the Word of God and organizes and governs the nation according to biblical principles is a righteous nation.
People of God should pray, intercede for nations and also teach nations the Truth, the Word of God.
Is my nation becoming great by knowing the Bible?
