The work of the Holy Spirit

Lord Jesus gave an overview of the ministry of the Holy Spirt. Holy Spirit is the third person of Trinity. He will be poured and will indwell in all believers. His main work is to convict people. The three grand areas of conviction are: Sin, Righteousness and Judgement.
1) Sin: Refusing Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest, unpardonable sin that seals the destiny of a person. Why do people refuse Lord Jesus Christ? They must choose between two: Lord Jesus Christ and Sin (that includes the world, Satan and mammon). When people refuse Lord Jesus Christ, they do not understand the magnitude of sin. When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they plunged the world into darkness. All humanity stands condemned before Holy God. Lord Jesus came into the world to bear the punishment of sin, death, as the wages of sin is death. He was buried and rose again. Through His blood we have forgiveness of sins. Refusing Lord Jesus Christ means to reject that s/he is a sinner.
2) Righteousness: Lord Jesus Christ after resurrection ascended to Heaven, entered the Holy of Holies, with His own blood and sat down at the Right Hand of God. (Hebrews 9:12) The work of redemption, paving way for salvation of humans who believe in Him is open. A sinner by trusting in the finished work of Lord Jesus Christ, is declared Righteous and is clothed with the garment of righteousness. The Holy Spirit helps a person to understand this truth and receive righteousness as a gift of God.
3) Judgement: There is only one life and after that is Judgement. (Hebrews 9:27) God’s judgement is based on one factor: faith in Lord Jesus Christ. Those who do not place their trust on Lord Jesus will be rejected and will be receiving the ‘Second Death’ in the lake of fire, i.e. hell.
The Holy Spirit works in these core areas primarily and from this foundation there is Fruit of Spirit and Gift of Spirit.
